The Dam Of Tears

Shivering in the night
oh the tears of fright
the pain of being alone
feeling hopeless and forlorn
unable to let anyone in
unwilling to begin again
suffering my demons alone
I want a place that I can call home
home a recurring theme
sometimes I wonder if I merely dream
hoping that someone will rescue me
maybe it's time I did the rescuing
maybe it's time I threw out a hand
and ask someone to help pull me back
I'm tired so tired of the resentment
the fear and anger
finally the dam bursts and I am in tears
it's time to begin again
this time don't let me give in
